RCHM & ATCMA Approval
As part of their commitment to consumer protection, the RCHM runs an Approved Suppliers Scheme to allow practitioners to reassure their patients that the herbs used are both safe for medicinal use, and of the highest possible quality.
Phoenix was the first supplier to obtain the new RCHM Approval Scheme in 2012. Since then, we have continued to promote the highest standard of practice and provide the best quality herbal products.
Approved suppliers are required to participate in regular audits to ensure the standard of practice remains at the highest level. After another successful audit, we are proud to announce that our approved supplier status has been renewed.
The report stated, “Following the review, the company met the RCHM standards applicable for all activities”. It went on to say, “The new facility is fit for purpose and provides plenty of space for the operations required and the staff facilities are very good”.
Phoenix has been working with the RCHM and ATCMA since the beginning and we are extremely honoured to continue our partnership with them. We deliver our commitments to only provide 100% non-sulphur treated, fully authentic dried herbs and concentrated herbal granules.
The British Herbal Medicine Association was founded in 1964 to advance the science and practice of herbal medicine in the United Kingdom. It promotes the use of herbal medicinal products manufactured to pharmaceutical standards to ensure consistently high quality and effectiveness for the consumer.
The BHMA, with its established links to independent academia and health professions, set up the Health Practitioners Suppliers Section (HPSS) to ensure suppliers maintain standards of quality within the sector. Phoenix Medical is a proud member of the BHMA’s HPSS.
To strengthen our credibility further, we took the BHMA’s Good Herbal Manufacture and Supply Standard assessment – which we successfully passed! The completion of the audit ensures Phoenix is the first supplier that has obtained approval for both raw Chinese herbal materials and extracts.
As part of the approval, we have gained the right to use the honourable ‘BHMA Herb Mark’ which provides further support and reassurance for practitioners and therefore patients. The collective Herb Mark ensures that practitioners are aware that the products they are using are of the highest quality and produced/prepared most safely. The Herb Mark will be added to our new sustainable packaging in 2022 so be sure to keep an eye out for updates!
