Dear Phoenix Family Members,
As we bid adieu to 2023, a year marked by the official end of the global pandemic, we take a moment to reflect on the challenges we’ve surmounted. This year tested our resilience, presenting hurdles such as rising costs for medicinal plant materials, a surge in global demand, and extended production lead times. However, in the face of adversity, we stood united and strong, transforming challenges into opportunities.
Strengthening Our Resilient Supply Chain Together
Throughout 2023, we remained focused on nurturing and fortifying our partnerships, ensuring a seamless flow from the source of materials to the clinic. Despite the obstacles, the unwavering support of our dedicated family allowed us to maintain stability in our supply lines and prices.
Enhancing Our Internal Framework
Internally, we prioritised the well-being of our Phoenix community. Committed to the highest standards, holding ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 certifications, and securing approved supplier qualifications in the healthcare system and professional bodies, we ensured regulatory compliance and environmental responsibility.
Dedication to Innovation, Production & Promotion
Our journey of innovation, production, and promotion shone brightly this year. The success of the DaoDi culinary herb range, AURA supplements, and US organic mushroom products showcased our commitment to delivering excellence. Innovation and sustainability remained a priority, evident in our expanded recyclable eco-acupuncture needle range and the adoption of eco-friendly packaging for herbal products.
A Milestone in 2023: The UK Centre of Chinese Medicine (CCMUK)
In 2023, we achieved a significant milestone with the establishment of the UK Centre of Chinese Medicine (CCMUK), a non-profit organisation supporting practitioners through education, research, and the promotion of Chinese medicine. Our collaboration with CCMUK and the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM) in hosting the Chinese Medicine & Human Health 2023 Conference was a resounding success, bringing together over 500 attendees both in person and virtually.
Charitable Initiatives and Knowledge Sharing
In the spirit of giving back, we upheld our commitment to charitable initiatives. By supporting organisations such as ICENI Ipswich, World Medicine, Acupuncture Without Borders, and Ukrainian Acupuncture Support, we aimed to make a positive impact during challenging times. Our dedication to students persisted, with continued support for vital teaching institutes like KORE Academy UK, NCA, and NADA.
Optimism for 2024
As we stand on the cusp of a new year, we carry forward the lessons and achievements of the past. With optimism, we eagerly anticipate the opportunities that 2024 will bring. Phoenix remains your steadfast partner, a symbol of reliability in the industry. The relationships we’ve nurtured set the stage for the exciting journey ahead, and we wholeheartedly invite you to join us on this adventure.
Warmest Regards,
George He MMedSci FRSM
