We have always been committed to offering the best quality authentic DaoDi herbs. We pride ourselves on offering the highest quality products, rather than the most affordable as we believe offering safe and authentic goods is more beneficial for patients, and practitioners.
We will be restocking many of our dry herbs at the beginning of September and the updated price list will come into effect then.
New Dry Herb Prices
Our customers will be pleased to know that the majority of our herbs will now be cheaper! We have been working tirelessly with our factories in China to ensure our herbs are now more affordable than ever. We have secured our supply chain from Farm to Patient and have worked out the most economical and effective way to import our herbs.
It is our mission to develop the Chinese medicine industry in the West and we want to make herbal medicine as accessible as possible. Therefore, along with the improved exchange rate between GBP and RMB, we have been able to lower the majority of our prices.
However, it is not possible to lower all prices. As a herb increases in popularity, it also increases in price. As we only supply DaoDi herbs, all of our herbs are grown in the place of origin so, therefore, can cost more to cultivate. Herbs such as Ren Shen and Suan Zao Ren are especially difficult to grow authentically, causing their value to increase dramatically.
Ren Shen
Ren Shen is traditionally sourced from the provinces of Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang and must be grown for 5 years in specific soil before being harvested. To meet increasing demand in recent years, Ren Shen cultivation has extended south-west into Hebei and Shanxi provinces. The species is native to China but over-harvesting of wild populations during the past century has caused a decline in the herb and now only strictly protected populations survive in the places of origin. The conservation status of Ren Shen is now critically endangered. Additionally, the growth of the authentic herb is much slower than that of cultivated plants, but its medicinal quality is reputedly much higher, as are the prices.
Sliced Ren Shen: £65.50. Now: £99:50
Whole Ren Shen: £58. Now: £93.20
Suan Zao Ren
Phoenix Suan Zao Ren is grown in the place of origin and harvested in late autumn and early winter. In recent years, the herb has grown in popularity for its ability to help insomnia, anxiety, palpitations and irritability. Because of the high market demand and the limited output, the price of the herb has increased dramatically.
Suan Zao Ren: £34.50. Now: £55.75
