Dear Colleagues,
Well, another year is over and what a year it has been! 2018 brought us a lot of challenges but also a lot of success and as always, we are extremely excited about the coming year.
The most pivotal moment for 2018 was, of course, the International Jing Fang Conference. We set our sights high and although it was tough, we did it! Our goal was to bring classical formulas into the 21st century and we were thrilled to share the journey with our 8 Jing Fang Masters, including Professor Huang Huang and Professor Feng Shi Lun. We were honoured to have delegates attend from over 24 countries including Singapore, Australia and Switzerland to support not only us but the Jing Fang community as a whole. We would like to thank every individual who played a part in the Jing Fang Conference, as without them, none of it would have been possible!
We also dedicated a lot of 2018 to bringing in new products. We expanded our needle range with the addition of our Medical Plastic Handle Acupuncture Needles and most recently, 10 in 1 Blister Pack Needles. As well as needles, we also introduced our new pain management range; Phoenix Muscle Comfort, which includes a Massage Oil, Warming Plasters and Cooling Plasters – which of course, uses 100% herbal ingredients.
It wasn’t just the Phoenix product range that expanded, but also the Phoenix team. In 2018, we proudly welcomed China Purmed to the Phoenix family! They have been a longstanding business partner and friend to us and we’re excited to work alongside them. As well as new companies, we also took on new staff and hope to grow the team further in the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled for some new faces!
Carrying on from 2017, we are continuing to support World Medicine in their journey to treat victims of the Grenfell Fire using detox acupuncture. As well as this, 2018 saw the start of our partnership with Animals Asia. As we are against the sale and use of animal products, it only seemed right to support a charity who has the same ideology. We have been fundraising and donating throughout the year and we will continue to do so in 2019.
2019 – The Year of Fortune and Luck
We have big plans for 2019! Just like every year, we plan to expand our product range. As always, we have taken on board your comments and suggestions to ensure we are a one-stop-shop for all of your TCM needs. We will be launching our latest venture, Herbal Hair, which is more commonly known as 101 ZhangGuang. The range includes herbal products to help prevent and treat hair loss. We will also be introducing our new TDP range which features a new and improved heat lamp and TDP moxa plaster.
After the great success of the Complete Course of Tung’s Acupuncture this year, we will be running a follow-up Master Tung workshop in 2019, taught by Dr Michael Chong. As well as that, we plan to host numerous CPD courses for both Western and Chinese practitioners, on a variety of topics such as Scalp Acupuncture and Massage Therapy. We are aware that TCM training and education is becoming less readily available but at Phoenix, it has always been our mission to offer the highest level of Chinese medicine education and we will continue to do so.
Following on from last year, we are still working to reduce our carbon footprint. This year we stopped sending paper invoices, sent recyclable Christmas cards and reduced to the amount of waste we have in a bid to be more eco-friendly. In 2019, we will be introducing our new acupuncture needle packaging which will be recyclable and eco-friendly. We will also be introducing more 10 in 1 needle sizes which can help reduce the amount of waste in your clinic.
The Phoenix team is stronger than ever and we have big plans and great expectations for next year. We’d like to thank each and every one of you for your loyalty and trust in Phoenix. 2019 is set to be an exciting year and we hope you continue to share our journey.
