As many of you are aware, we are working with the British Acupuncture Council to ensure their members receive exclusive perks as part of our sponsorship.
However, we didn’t want anyone to miss out so we established the Phoenix Medical x BAcC Student Pledge!
As part of the pledge, Phoenix is donating starter packs to 250 new BAcC students every year! This is to ensure students start their acupuncture journey the right way, with the highest quality products. Each pack contains a sample of essential acupuncture supplies and is given to students at one of the annual 13 BAcC student meetings.
This article was written by Natalie Johnson, Admissions & Student Membership Manager at the British Acupuncture Council.
In my experience from working on busy cruise ships, the most common ailments mimic the same ailments patients come to see me with on land with one exception… sea sickness! Psychological imbalances, facial acupuncture, muscular skeletal issues and weight management are various common conditions that often mean that the right size needle can become your best friend. Needle length and width depend on so many variables such as the size and shape of the practitioner’s hand and the constitution of the patient.
The British Acupuncture Council has teamed up with Phoenix Medical to supply our students on BAAB courses with delightful goody bags that include:
- British Acupuncture Council leaflet
- Phoenix notebook
- A copy of Acu (the BAcC’s quarterly magazine)
- A beautiful acupuncture points poster
- Sample needles
- Phoenix Medical and BAcC branded mini sharps box
- A copy of the European Journal of Oriental Medicine (EJOM)
- Needling practice pad (for the 1st years)
- Smokeless moxa stick
- Alcohol wipes
- Pre-cut Pure Moxa
- Phoenix presentation folder, catalogue and tote bag
- A copy of BAcC’s Bridging the Gap: Setting up your new acupuncture practice
My first talk with the brand new goody bags was at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM). All the students were really happy with them and were unaware of the BAcC’s partnership with Phoenix, which means all of our members (including student members) receive 25% off all needles.
Natalie’s guide to Phoenix needles sample pack:
0.18x7mm: Perfect for the NADA protocol.
0.18x13mm: ‘To smooth a facial wrinkle is to smooth the emotion once made for that wrinkle to form’.
0.20x30mm: This size of needle is my staple for clearing damp, liver Qi stagnation, treating the CF, AE and spirit points. If I had to choose just one size of needle to use for the rest of my life, this would be it!
0.25x40mm: Best used for threading techniques to treat muscular skeletal conditions.
0.30x75mm: For GB 30 Jumping Circle. Sciatica.
Please go to www.baab.org.uk to find out more about our accredited courses and to www.acupuncture.org.uk to find out more about the BAcC.
Students and members can visit our BAcC page to find out what benefits they can receive.
That is great news for us students! How would I go about obtaining a student starter pack? Regard Kerry
