The coronavirus pandemic has prompted many health practitioners to re-think the way that they operate. Many health practitioners have worked face-to-face for years and the digital world of video conference may feel unfamiliar to some. Unfortunately, acupuncture treatments are limited as this therapy relies on face-to-face contact. However, all is certainly not lost! Practitioners can still work with clients by recommending products that they can use by themselves. We have 8 TCM products that your clients can use at home.
As their practitioner, you can purchase on behalf of your client and have it delivered to their address. Alternatively, you may ask them to contact us and we can place the order for them.
1. HYSAN Muscle Comfort Oil (Huo Luo Oil)
This is a staple product in the medicine cabinet. Chinese liniments have been used for centuries to treat bumps and bruises. HYSAN Muscle Comfort (Huo Luo) Oil is a fully licensed and all-natural product. It’s great for stimulating Qi and blood movement to promote healing. Simply teach your patient to apply a small amount to the affected area and massage firmly.
2. Moxa Belt with Copper Burners
Moxa is an excellent self-care therapy when done safely. Moxibustion is commonly often used at home in China. We have a range of safe moxa products that patients can use by themselves, including our Moxa Belt and Copper Burners. Simply pair with a smokeless moxa cone and ensure that you run through fire safety instructions with your client.
3. TDP Moxa Warming Stimulator Plasters
Our TDP Moxa Warming Stimulator Plasters have been a popular product for years. These plasters feature a centre filled with moxa powder and a TDP mineral plate. Once the packaging is opened, the plaster will heat up autonomously, providing a long-lasting warm sensation once applied to the skin. This product can be used on acupuncture points on the abdomen, back of the neck and on areas where pain is a problem. The plaster can reach a temperature of 45-50 degrees celsius and will last up to 12 hours. The plaster is perfect for mimicking the therapeutic benefits of moxa and a TDP lamp. It may be suitable for a variety of conditions such as joint pain, menstrual pain, colds/flu, Qi deficiency and more. These plasters are great for clients to use at home.
4. Muscle Comfort Plasters – Warming and Cooling
The Phoenix Muscle Comfort plasters were designed for everybody. These plasters can be used at home to relieve muscle and joint pain and or acute injuries like sprains. The Warming plasters may be recommended for chronic conditions like joint inflammation or relieving muscle soreness. The Cooling plasters are suited for reducing inflammation and swelling in acute injuries like a sprain. The Cooling plasters are an alternative to the popular “Jin Si Gao plasters”. Both types of plasters feature a natural hydrogel layer of herbs on a super-soft cloth for comfort. When applying the plaster to areas where movement might loosen the plaster, i.e. joints or the back, we recommend supplementing with a backing plaster to hold it in place.
5. Vaccaria Seeds and Magentic Pellets
Ear seeds and magnetic pellets were widely used before the coronavirus pandemic. They feature a small vaccaria seed (Wang Bu Liu Xing) or a magnetic ball on a skin coloured plaster. They can be applied to an acupressure point and massaged throughout the day by the client themselves. We supply brands such as ACCU-BAND, Magrain, Seirin PYONEX as well as our own brand. Whether you’re online or in-person, you can recommend herbal supplements to your clients. Many individuals are looking for ways to support their immunity, especially during the coronavirus outbreak. Medicinal mushrooms like Reishi are prized for their immunomodulatory benefits. Single herb supplements are a great TCM product that clients can use at home by themselves.
